Heart Disease Prevention - How Is Stroke Related To Heart Disease?

It is common for heart problems including heart attack, congestive heart failure, abnormal heart rhythms, and cardiac arrest to occur immediately after a stroke. These heart problems may be caused by the stroke itself, or by the same underlying process that induced the stroke, or the heart problem may occur first to cause the stroke. More details at:

    Thank you sharing! I think that you entry linking cardiovascular events and stroke is very timely and important as the two are dependent upon vascular health. An ongoing initiative by the Center's for Disease Control and Prevention is the Million Heart's Initiative--aimed at reducing heart attacks and strokes by one million in the next five years through the proliferation partnerships, toolkits, education, and health managment incentives. These interventions are aimed at reducing sodium intake, blood pressure managment, reducing cholesterol and increasing healthy activities.
